The Story…

Zero Mountain was created during the Enduring Boredom/Horror of the inaugural Quarantine of 2020. Its initial aim was to highlight the purest forms of Rock n Roll in the state of Arkansas, but I have since expanded to Tennessee, where I live now, as well as my musical experiences and interests within and without those places. In other words, welcome to my world.

My name is Skyler Gambert and I author the blog. I have written about music for 50thirdand3rd.com and Shindigmusic.net. In 2014, I published a research paper through the Rhodes Institute for Regional Studies detailing the history of WLYX, the original freeform radio station in Memphis, TN. In 2012, I was a presenter at California University of Pennsylvania’s 7th Annual Hip-hop Conference. Professionally, I work in libraries and archives.

I currently play and write for The Wirms, Tuth, Sweet Darlin’, and Sweet Cream Ladies.
